Medical hypnosis is always used in consultation with a physician, for example for pain relief or to support medical conditions. Hypnotherapy, on the other hand, can be recommended and performed by both a physician and a psychiatrist or psychologist, depending on the specific situation of the patient.

For hypnosis without therapy, no medical certificate is required.

 

If your doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist has referred you and you have a completed form for therapy, you will receive a free customized self-hypnosis audio, worth fifty euros.

 

About thirty doctors now refer patients. Confidence in hypnosis is increasing, which benefits all parties.

The reduction of medication after therapy is done under the supervision of the doctor. Hypno Jens only gives advice and guidelines that can be discussed later with your doctor.

For tapering schedules or changes in medication after improvement, please contact your GP or psychiatrist only.

Als hypnotherapeut begeleid ik je stap voor stap naar deze diepe staat van ontspanning. Vanuit die rust werken we aan het loslaten van blokkades, negatieve overtuigingen of ongewenste gewoontes.

Hypnosis is scientifically defined as an altered state of consciousness characterized by heightened concentration, focused attention, and heightened suggestibility. From a neuropsychological perspective, hypnosis is a phenomenon in which brain activity changes, often visible in fMRI and EEG scans, indicating decreased activity in the so-called default mode network (DMN) and increased activity in areas responsible for attention, memory, and cognitive control. These brain structures are involved in the degree of suggestibility and the individual’s ability to disengage from automatic, unconscious responses.

Hoeveel sessies heb ik nodig?

Dat verschilt per persoon. Sommige mensen ervaren al een doorbraak na 1 sessie, terwijl anderen baat hebben bij een kort traject van 2 tot 3 sessies. Tijdens het kennismakingsgesprek bespreken we jouw doel en maken we samen een persoonlijk behandelplan.

Voor wie is hypnose geschikt?

Hypnotherapie is geschikt voor iedereen die openstaat voor verandering en gemotiveerd is om aan zichzelf te werken. Je hoeft niet “gelovig” te zijn in hypnose – een open houding is voldoende. Kinderen, jongeren en volwassenen kunnen allemaal baat hebben bij deze zachte, maar doeltreffende aanpak.

Hypnose is veilig en erkend?

​Je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken over veiligheid. Hypnotherapie is een erkende methode en ik ben als therapeut aangesloten bij de Belgische Hypnose Vereniging. Ik werk altijd binnen een professionele en ethische context, en indien nodig in overleg met jouw arts of psycholoog.

Wist je dat hypnose ook medisch wordt gebruikt in ziekenhuizen? Bijvoorbeeld als pijnbestrijding bij bevallingen of bij chronische aandoeningen.

Scientific research shows that hypnosis can have beneficial effects without the need for additional therapies by influencing brain activity and physiological processes such as cortisol production.

Studies have shown that hypnosis can be effective in lowering stress-related hormones such as cortisol, which helps reduce anxiety and promote relaxation. Neuroimaging studies confirm that hypnosis affects brain activity, with specific changes in areas responsible for emotional regulation and pain processing.

In addition, clinical evidence shows that hypnosis is successful in treating chronic pain and promoting behavioral change, such as smoking cessation or weight loss.

Considering these scientific findings, hypnosis, especially in cases of stress-related complaints and pain management, can be considered a fully-fledged treatment option, both alone and in combination with other therapies.
